Inspiration: the farmer's market

The smells and colors at the Farmer's Market instantly make me happy. The pops of crimson and yellow from the fresh strawberries and lemons made these spirited tulips at Target later that day an easy choice.

Friendly tip: A single flower, or small cluster of flowers in assorted old sweet tea bottles or jam jars makes for an easy coffee table arrangement.

Going to Haiti!

I’m going to Haiti with 32 SMU college students through a college ministry with my church, Watermark Community Church this Sunday. We’ll be partnering with Mission of Hope Haiti (MOH), an evangelical holistic ministry that has been operating in Haiti for over 40 years.

Visit their site, http://www.mohhaiti.org/, for more information.

The MOH complex sits on 76 acres of land and employs over 150 Haitians. Approximately 1,300 children are enrolled in the School of Hope, the Hope House Orphanage is home to almost 60 children, Hope Clinic sees hundreds of patients every week and over 1000 adults, youth and children come from surrounding villages to attend the Church of Hope.

This trip will focus on serving with Mission of Hope on and off site with various projects ranging from construction, to food distribution, to orphan care, to evangelism.

Here is the link to the blog if you want updates during our time in Haiti - it goes live tomorrow!

Welcome Back Emily!

Blue hydrangea, red tulips, yellow buttons and light pinkish white "fancy" tulips. Delish.

So glad you are back from your 3 month vacation...I mean maternity leave, Emily!
